Metairie, Louisiana Speed Traps
Cleary Exit off of Earhart Expwy
The cops like to sit in a little grass triangle as you get off of Earhart on the Cleary exit.
Near Memorial Baptist Church on W. Canal Ave. & Purdue
Deputies sit on side of W.Canal Ave. (hiding between shrubs/trees) where Purdue Dr. intersects W. Canal Ave. and shoot radar both ways.
N.Causeway Blvd.
N.Causeway Blvd. between the interstate overpass and W.Esplanade. Mainly at night. The cop normally Hides in one of the parking lots on the north bound side. I’ve watched him pull over cars all night pretty often. The speed limit changes when you come down the overpass.
Hickory Overpass
Cops sit at the foot of the Hickory Overpass, in Lasalle Park’s parking lot off of Airline & David Dr with their radar gun pointed at the top of the bridge. Once you see them its to late. There are usually 3 state troopers 1 with the radar and 2 writing, you guessed it " your very own ticket". The speed limit is 40 MPH. Remember its not how fast you have to go to get up the bridge, its how fast they clock you at..
Northbound Dickory by Airline Hwy.
A State Trooper is positioned on the northbound side of Dickory Avenue just before Airline Hwy. He is positioned there by Zephyr’s Field and is using the treecover to run a speed trap on passing motorists. Beware falling into this revenue stream!
