Dickory Avenue near US Highway 61 – Airline Hwy

Metairie, LouisianaSep 20, 20070 Comments

The trap is located just past the light located at the intersection of Dickory Ave and the end of Earhart Expressway. There is a ramp/elevated highway heading toward Airline Highway. A trooper sits at the bottom of the elevated highway in the parking lot (amongst parked cars) and catches you as the travel down the elevated highway. There is a 40 mph speed limit posting at the bottom of the elevated highway.

Avron Boulevard near Transcontinental Boulevard

Metairie, LouisianaSep 03, 20070 Comments

Avron Blvd. is an alternate route to go from Lake Villa Dr. to Bissonet Dr. mainly used when traffic on W. Esplanade Ave. is backed up or congested. From Lake Villa to Transcontinental the speed limit is 30 MPH which is obeyable, but once you cross Transcontinental it drops to 20 MPH and there is always a motorcycle cop behind some bushes in someone’s yard. It’s very easy to continue driving at 30 MPH in that 20 MPH zone and the cops that have got me have wrote me tickets for as little as 4 over. It’s a shame that such popular and convenient road would have a ten mile an hour drop.

Cleary Avenue near W. Napoleon Street

Oaklawn Drive near Toulouse Street

Metairie, LouisianaMay 24, 20070 Comments

A busy street that many people take to get to bypass backed up I 10 traffic. Cops hide behind trees on Toulouse and then pull you over on the side street. I’ve seen car after car being pulled over. This is probably one of JPSO’s prime spots for their deputies to make quota.
