New Orleans, Louisiana Speed Traps

School zones in this area are not posted properly. If you’re turning onto Jefferson Davis Parkway from various side streets; you enter a school zone without knowing it. The police know of this situation and exploit it. Several people I know have been ticketed here for doing the posted (35mph) speed limit not knowing they were in a school zone during 25mph hours. There are no schools that I know of within several blocks of this area, as is the case with many other "school zones" throughout New Orleans.

Police have been known to remove or knock down the speed limit signs, then hide in the bushes along Bayou St. John and prey on motorists who don’t know what the posted limit is.

It is a camera and there no sign until this past week. When you get a ticket in the mail it just says over speed limit. I wonder how many people have gotten a ticket like that. This could just be taking every car that passes and send them a ticket.
