Paradis, Louisiana Speed Traps

When getting off of I-310 at Highway 90 on the Westbank
and getting onto Highway 90 heading toward Houma, there
are constantly Parish Sheriff’s department and state troopers hidden from the 310 exit through Paradis all
the way to the Des Allemands Bridge. At Paradis, it drops
to 45 mph and there are two school zones that blink yellow
lights at early afternoon. Fly through a blinkng light school zone and you will likely get caught. Speed through
Paradis well over 45 and over 55 to the Des Allemands Bridge and you will likely get nailed. I can’t remember
hardly a single day that I don’t see a number of cars stopped and the drivers getting tickets. Locals know better, but others don’t. When I didn’t know better
a number of years ago, I got a ticket for $150 for going
10 miles over the 55 speed limit. Watch the school zones
and speed limit signs or be prepared to pay the price!

West bound School Zone speed trap in the town of Paradis, LA. There are yellow flashing lights designating a school zone as you enter Paradis travelling west bound, however at the end of the school zone when you think you are clear, approximately 100 yards past the yellow flashing lights going eastbound, there is a sign that reads End School Zone. Just when you think that you are out of the school zone, it turns out that you are still in it, only to be trapped by a parish deputy writing tickets. The regular speed limit is 45 mph. I was written a ticket for 41 in a 25 mph school zone.

Eastbound–Just before entering Paradis the speed limit drops from 55 to 45 and your coming to a right curve. Parish & State units set up in the curve. speed resumes to 55 leaving Paradis, 3 miles ahead just before Mozella(not on a map, its just what the area is called) speed limit drops to 45 and your entering a right curve.
