Coming into town and leaving town

Pine Prairie, LouisianaJun 28, 20170 Comments

I was traveling north bound on hwy 13 and before I could brake I saw blue lights behind me. There is no way you can slow down in time to avoid a ticket unless your doing 45 in a 55 over 1/4 mile away from town. There is no speed zone ahead sign as well. I received a 52 in a 45 ticket and I told officer you saw me slowing down as soon as I could he ignored me and issued a ticket. I told the officer this is quite the revenue trap you have here he smirked and walked away… Stay far away from this town…

I was traveling from Eunice to Alexandria and as I entered into Pine Prairie there were blue lights behind me before I could even touch my breaks to slow down to the posted 45 mph (from 55 mph). The office said he clocked me at 61 and could have my car impounded and arrest me but would give me a break and only charge me with speeding. I tried to pay the ticket in person but it hadn’t been processed so they couldn’t/wouldn’t take my payment. I just paid on-line (since I am from out of state) and on top of the ticket charge there was a 10% on-line payment fee for a total of $291. I will avoid this little town at all costs in the future.

There is no indication that the speed limit is about to change. Police ticket you either as you enter town and in the process of breaking down your speed or as you leave town as the speed increases. I was told by the officer that I had increase my speed to 51 mph when my car was barely pass the 55mph sign.

on south side of town where it goes from 55mph to 45mph

The cop hides on the east side of the road and takes your speed as you approach the warning sign then comes out just before you reach the 45 mph sign and pulls you over. You will not be speeding at all. The ticket will cost a min. of $154 dollars. Use your cruse control at all times and slow down well before you get to any town in Louisiana.

Just at the previous post I was doing speed limit of 55 outside of town when I saw sign that speed limit ahead was 45 so I slowed down to 45 by the time I got to the 45 sign I was almost to the 55 mph sign that leads out of town and the car pulled me over and gave me a ticket for doing 54 in 45. I explained to the officer that as soon as I saw the speed limit drop I began to slow down all he said was sorry I clocked you at 54 in a 45. I will have to issue you a citiation for speeding. I was upset it was my first day returning back to my spring semester in college. What a way to start a semester and I have to travel that road twice a week.
