Pine Prairie, Louisiana Speed Traps
US Highway 13
The cop sits on the side of the road by a building to where you cant see the unit. And right there the speed limit goes from 55 to 45 so if your not paying attention your caught. I got a ticket for doing 61 in a 45 and it cost me 229 dollars. How you like that non-sense.
State Highway 13
the police unit sits off roadway in the bushes so he can’t be seen from either direction until your already caught.the location is in front of the dollar general store on highway 13 (Veteran Memorial Highway). He also sits at the edge of a car lot so it looks like just one of the cars for sale at the lot. All the police units are unmarked.
Louisiana State Highway 13, between Turkey Creek and Mamou in south/central Louisiana (approximately halfway bwteen Interstate 49 and Interstate 10 )
Located on a straight stretch of Hwy 13, in a 55mph zone lay this nasty trap. Speed zones are posted but there is NO discernable development to cue the driver that a speed zone is approaching. Therefore if the driver is distracted by oncoming vehicles or another safe driving activity and misses the sign, he will never know that he is in a municipal speed zone. There are no flashing lights, and no signaled intersections in the town. Police cars lay in wait along the side of the road behind trees to nab the unwary driver.
