I-49

Ville Platte, LouisianaJun 01, 20220 Comments

Two vehicles – unmarked (white)
Vehicle 1 on shoulder of road with the lanes of traffic; driver shooting Laser/Radar from a slightly open driver door.
Vehicle 2 on shoulder of the road 1 mile further down the road and actually executes the stop.
WHO? This is the Ville Platte City Marshall’s Office. Ville Platte is 17-plus miles away/25 minute drive from I-49. Totally bogus traffic stops. And expensive.

There is an old store that is no longer in business, where the cop can hide really well. It is right outside of Ville Platte, heading towards Chatainger. He likes to spend the entire day there. Speed limit is 55 there.

Coming in the city of Ville Platte or leaving by this route you will be on a 5 lane. The speed limit is 50. You aren’t dealing with the most brilliant of law enforcement as the cop said it was a 45 and then wrote on the ticket "50". The limit changes from time to time so be careful. Also you come of the one way going outof town onto the 5 lane you may feel comfortable with 55 or a little bit higher but don’t. This is especially true if you are on a motorcycle.
