Washington, Louisiana Speed Traps

Just like everyone else, I just got nailed 81 in a 75. total moneymaker for this sleepy little town. $218 is kinda steep!!! google the town, you see their map only goes out east enough to cover 2 miles of interstate I-49. just enough……

81 in a 75. Yes illegal yet where is the town located It’s a civil fine $218.00 which means if not paid also goes on your credit
report as well

Speed Trap …..

I was going 81 in a 75… while passing an 18 wheeler. So, technically speeding, "yes". However, lots of folks with Louisiana tags were passing me and the guy with the Texas plates gets the ticket. This makes me not want to spend any money in their state and my wife and I travel to NO every year for our anniversary. Come on Washington, find a better way to raise revenue. At least give a little leeway.

I, my parents, and everyone I know has gotten a ticket here. The location is coming up on Washington, LA on both sides of the overpass. There can be TWO or more police cars, so you think you have passed it and then *wham* the next one gets you. They are slick like that. The speed limit in this area has recently been raised to 75, so I see less people getting pulled over, but it is on a “dead” stretch of interstate where you can zone out and go fast, so be aware!!

two Washington and one St Landry cop sits on this road at a speed limit of 55 mph; they will ticket you at 58 mph; they sit there all day. This is how the city of Washington stay in business
