City officer sits just inside on city limits sign and checks speed of drivers on US highway before entering city limits and gives tickets as a city speeding violation. Driver speed is checked on state highway outside city. Even though driver speed is correct by the time the driver reaches city limits, the citation is issued anyway as a city violation.

Marked town cop sits parked on shoulder or slowly trolling. Rural two lane highway drops abruptly from 65 mph posted to 45, but cops are known to "lengthen" the posted area. No slack cut whatsoever even for locals. Speeds of 50 or less will earn you a citation.Tickets are the primary source of town revenue. The parish DA told me he considers the town PD an embarrassment.
