West Monroe, Louisiana Speed Traps
eastbound on Ark. Rd where it curves to become Trenton St.
the speed limit is 35mph, then is reduced at the last minute to 25mph with the sign is added to the curve sign. WMPD is very often in the parking lot of the corprate headquarters of a pizza chain behind the hedge or sign during morning rush, the 25mph sign used to be further up the road and very obvious. The trap started appearing right after a new chief of police was installed.
Constitution Dr Road near Interstate 20
Constitution Dr is called "resturant row" due to the number of eateries. The police sit on the side of the road which is posted at 25mph. They stop for doing 10-15 over. When you get to the end of Constitution around the Downing Pines Overpass, there are no businesses, butit still is 25 and they sit down there. Watch out because it is very easy to drive 45-50 on the open road!
Interstate I-20 near Mile Marker 108
Louisiana Highway Patrol and local law enforcement work heavily along I-20 from MM 108 to 114. There is very little tolerance.
Interstate I-20 westbound @ 112 exit near Exit Number 112
The speed limit going eastbound reduces to 60 mph @ the 112 marker but going westbound it doesn’t resume back up to 70 mph for another 1/2 mile to the west and there is a State Trooper with his laser gun "informing" people of this fact with a speeding citation.
Interstate 20 near Downing Pines Crossing
The speed limit is 70 about a mile west of overpass. It turns to 60 about half a mile before overpass. Most vehicles donot slow down in this stretch. Police are on east side of overpass, either in median or to the right side of overpass, up the embankment. Somewhat forgiving looking for blatant speeders coming into town.
