Interstate 49, Robinson Rd.

I was actually looking for a route to get from Alexandria to Forest Hill without passing through Woodworth, but apparently the I-49 overpass to Robinson Rd. near mile marker 73 is part of the town’s jurisdiction. Anyway, as I approached the overpass I seen one of their officers stopped with a car in the north lane and another officer parked below me on Robinson Road. Luckily I had cruise control set a few notches below the posted speed limit for that highway or I’m sure I would have been stopped as well. TIP: when you go anywhere near Woodworth make sure you go BELOW the speed limit.

Be careful after you turn Right off of US165, just over the hill a cop is usually waiting. The speed limit is stating that it is 35mph. This is very frustrating for me as I was bringing my daughter to a Track meet in Pineville. The cop was very nice and insisted on giving me directions to the park, this must be an essential part of their revenue stream? This is one of the reasons my daughter will not be going to LA Tech, since she would have to pass through several little towns with speed traps.

Anywhere in the Woodworth town limits!

Of course, who knows where the town limits are from day to day!!! Rule of thumb: always drive at least 5 miles under the posted speed limit in Woodworth! This might not keep you from getting a ticket, but at least it will give you an argument! Several years ago after discovering that 87% of the town’s revenue was derived from traffic violations, the State of Louisiana threatened to pass legislation capping that amount at 35%. After promises of using "more discretion", the legislation was stopped and Woodworth was off the hook! I wonder what that percentage is now! Good luck finding that information!!!

I-49 is NOT in Woodworth’s jurisdiction, not even the overpass! Of course, that does’nt mean they won’t try to write you a ticket!!!

Speed limit stays 35MPH past any buildings, well out of town. The limit goes to 55MPH just past where the curved pavement changes to a paved shoulder, this is where you have to go to be able to pull over, you’re looking at a 55MPH sign as he writes you up for speeding over 35MPH.
