The bridge drops the speed limit from 65 to 55 mph and you become easy pickings for State Police on the Maine side as you cross the bridge. Especially during the summer months.

A police cruiser will sit in a concealed (by trees and shrubs) location in fron of an elderly housing complex and pull people over all day long. The posted speed is 25 mph, well short of the safe driving speed of 35-40. I have see police pull people over every day, all day as long as they have the time. They sure do know where their cash cow is!!

By the Kittery Trading Post (Rt 1) store on Sunday morning

Kittery, MaineApr 27, 20101 Comments

The speed limit on Rt 1 by the Kittery malls is only 25 MPH. On Sunday morning the route is clear of traffic and most people don’t realize they are going over 25 MPH. The cops hide in Bob’s Clam Hut parking lot and have no problem obtaining their “quoto.”
