Monmouth, Maine Speed Traps
Main Street near railroad crossing
The police will often locate their vehicle in the parking lot in front of the Police station building or the fire station, particularly effective for vehicles traveling north on Main Street, (Route 132)
Route 202
Monmouth PD loves to sit at either the knowles lumber building late at night/early morning. Also heading west towards Lewiston shortly after the old Dumonts Pit stop (now Phils Super Variety) in the small gully on the right hand side where the guard rail is pushed away from the road. As well as at Reggies Kawasaki early mornings.
State Route 126 near Tacoma Lakes
This is a well-marked 35mph speed zone. Monmouth police set up on a street parallel to Rt 126 and catch people going both ways. Numerous vehicles going over 55 in this area so trap is warranted…but expensive if you ignore speed zone signs. I live where I can watch the action…more fun than "Cops".

MPD sits in front of the FairPoint Communications junction building facing North. Speed limit is 25mph.
