State Route 302 near Naples Fire Station

Naples, MaineMar 16, 20080 Comments

The sheriffs like to park in driveway, sometimes on the west side clocking cars coming out of the causeway westbound, sometimes backed up to the enourmous snowbanking on the east side clocking eastbound traffic. The speed limit coming out of the causeway westbound is 25mph, and understandably so. Traveling eastbound, however, the speed limit drops from 55 to 35 (across from Wild Plum) about 1/4 mile before the sheriff/fire department/warden station and traffic is typically traveling well over the limit prior to passing the substation. Either position is excellent for nabbing speeders, so be aware of the posted limits and do not fall into the "trap" of going along with traffic…you may be the unfortunate "right one" they pull!
