College Avenue near Alfond Arena

Orono, MaineApr 26, 20080 Comments

College Avenue between Stillwater Avenue in Old Town and the University of Maine’s Alfond Arena entrance in Orono is posted at 25MPH although traffic moves safely at 35. Police park in side streets and driveways and aggressively tag motorists for as little as 5MPH differential, especially students and faculty heading to campus. Before and after football and hockey games traffic is too heavy to even do the posted limited but any other time beware.

College Ave, near Orono/Old Town line

Orono, MaineSep 30, 20020 Comments

Both Orono and Old Town cops will sit near the town line and watch traffic going both directions. They sit on a small dirt road near the town line. The way they park, they can’t be seen until you’re less than 50 feet from them.
