Just as you pass exit 8 on I-95 going north, a state trooper waits in the early morning dawn (so it is very hard to see). The speed limit is 55 but people have the tedancy to go around 65 or 70. The officer will be sitting in his car in a U-Turn area for authorized automobiles. Watching traffic going North NOT South.

Maine Turnpike, between exits 6 and 8

Heading south, just after exit 10 the speed limit goes to 55 mph from 65 mph. 1 mile before exit 7, a Me state police car sits on top of the new bridge with a laser radar shooting cars almost 1 mile away. He then radios the information to waiting state troopers. Just after exit 7, the south bound onramp will carry 5 or 6 cruisers. They hide behind the brush in the emergency lane. By the time you see the cop shooting you with radar it’s too late. This usually happens on Fridays during 4 & 7 pm.
