On Rte 121 (Clarksburg Rd) a nice wide bridge crosses over Little Seneca Lake, Black Hill Park. Both MD Park Police AND Montgomery County Police set up radar speed traps in this area (both sides of the bridge). The speed limit from the east end of the bridge to Rte 117 (Clopper Road) is a pokey 30 mph – which seems way below what an average driver would expect for a road as straight and wide as this. The speed is probably as low as it is due to the pedestrian traffic occasionally walking along and across Rte 121 to access the lake. PM Rush hour is when I most often see a patrol car there, but I’ve seen radar set up there at other times as well.
