Columbia, Maryland Speed Traps
At its west end, Snowden River Parkway in Columbia MD comes to a T-intersection with Broken Land Parkway. Along the right-hand (north) side of Snowden there is a red-light / speed camera that watches the intersection. Note that *there are no signs along Snowden warning of any photo enforcement*. Be also forewarned that this intersection is in Howard County and *the fines are very steep*, double those in typical Maryland counties.
Cops sit on the shoulders during peak travel times (mid day, mornings, early evenings). Be careful coming around the turns fast because they hide after curves when its too late. Some cops are visible and some are not. Make sure to look in the medians.
LOTS of cops near NSA right after the curve. They are frequently there.
Mobile speed camera van parked at Guilford Elementary School, near the intersection of Oakland Mills Rd and Coleman Thomas Rd.
Left side of the road is an emergency vehicle turn around point… State Troopers often frequent weeknights at night between 1130pm and 2 am.
