Along McKaig Rd; at entrance to Morningside Inn

Frederick, MarylandJan 13, 20160 Comments

As you are traveling along McKaig Rd a police car will sit at the driveway entrance to Morningside Inn. The posted speed limit is 30 mph; it’s difficult to travel only 30 mph in this zone…you have to ride your brakes. Most folks are probably going closer to 45 mph as they pass this entrance. It’s difficult to see the officer traveling northbound as you are going up an incline.

Gas House Pike a few yards after entering Fredr’k Cty lmit

Frederick, MarylandAug 10, 20140 Comments

A marked police car hides at the entrance road to the biological warfare research buildings to the right of Gas House Pike heading west as you are entering the Frederick city limits. The police car cannot be seen until you pass the road on the right were he is sitting, and waiting. I have seen two cars pulled over by the police on two different occasions as well as having seen them park there at least a dozen times.
The speed limit is 45 MPH on Gas House road until you see a sign posted with a 35MPH speed limit as you cross the Frederick city limit. Most people are probably doing more than 50 when the get nailed.

speed camera installed in a 25 mph school zone speed limit even when light is not flashing and school is not in session. I was sent a ticket in the mail for doing 37 mph two weeks after my car passed the camera with a digital photo of my car’s license plate, dated 6/15/12 5:30 pm, a Friday evening weeks after school was no longer in session. Who can remember how fast they were going at any given place two weeks ago to even begin to contest the ticket?
