Hunt Valley, Maryland Speed Traps

State troopers sit in the median southbound on I-83 just prior to exit 20, the Schawan rd./Hunt Valley exit. This is a down grade and drivers should use caution. Speed limit is 65 here. They are there most weekends during daylight hours.

Squad car sits in front of the 83 overpass facing Shawan Road, just before the golf course. It is likely that the officer might also sit on the opposite side. He caught me going southbound on Shawan right after I had passed Hunt Valley Mall. This spot is used frequently, as the officer told me he had been using it for the past 3 years. The car is impossible to see until it is too late. The posted speed is 40, but it is usually blatantly disregarded. Almost all the officers in the Hunt Valley and surrounding area will not hesitate to write up a ticket. Make sure to keep a eye on the speed limits as they constantly vary in this area.
