Westminster, Maryland Speed Traps
Uniontown Road near Westminster Elementary School
Police are usually waiting in either the parking lot of the elementary school, or just down the road in the church parking lot, both on the south side of Uniontown Rd. The speed limit gradually decreases from 50 to 35 to 25 coming into this area, but the road is still wide and inviting and it’s easy pickings for them.
Salem Bottom Road near Route 26 Road
They sit near Winfield elementary school on Salem Bottom Rd. and can shoot both directions, have been known to sit up in the school parking lot to avoid being seen
posted speed is 25, would not suggest going any faster then 30 especially during AM rush hour, as well as 2:15-3:00pm when the SC kids are coming/leaving school
State Highway 140 near Cancer Center
As you travel eastbound, leaving Westminster approaching Finksburg, there is a parking lot of a cancer treatment center (brick building) where state troopers use their radar to nail people. It is bordering a large field (only building on that side of the road)
Center Street near Old College Annex
Speed Limit is Posted 25 MPH. Westmunster City Police constantly site at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the old Carroll Community Annex and catch speeders as they are going DOWNHILL!
Uniontown Road near State Highway Route 31
Speed limit is 25 mph. and is vigorously enforced. Many time the Westmister police will open their trunk, so you cannot see the lights on top of the squad car. They usually sit just after Jaycee park or in front of Westmisnter Elementary school when ticketing folks traveling west or in the Baptist Church parking lot when they’re after folks traveling east.
