State Route 1 South near After the Tobin Bridge Tollbooth

Boston, MassachusettsDec 27, 20060 Comments

four state troopers waiting at the end of ramp. the highway speed limit is 55 mph however that changes all in a manner of a second to 30 mph as you approach the end of the ramp. beware, this is an extremely easy trap to fall into and the fines are ridiculous as a result of the change in speed limits.

Soldier’s Field Road near From Harvard Stadium to Honda dealership.

Boston, MassachusettsJun 15, 20060 Comments

I’ve seen cops inbound by the Stadium, inbound and outbound by the Day’s Hotel/WBZ studios; and outbound just past the tunnel by the Honda dealership (there is a bit of a curve and the two together means you can’t see them until you are just a few feet from them). Usually they sit in their cars with their guns out the window but a few weeks ago I saw a cop standing outside his car with the radar gun in his hand in front of the State Police Barracks. Which reminds me, this is a state road so it is state police. They tend to be there most often around peak drinking/driving holidays (July 4th, Christmas, New Years, etc.) and summertime – time of day varies depending on why they are out there.

State Route 33970

P.O stands around bend, outside of car with Lidar, a few cars flagged ((goes from 65 to 30 in a hurry)) Light enforcement (to a mainer), went 55 through, wasn’t flagged over.

Blue Hill Avenue near Dunkin Donuts

State Route The Riverway near State Highway Route 9

Boston, MassachusettsJan 17, 20060 Comments

As you come over a rise travelling east (the bridge that crosses Route 9) the road bears right and down. At the bottom of the hill they sit in wait. They were pulling cars over as quickly as they could write up the tickets. This area is posted 30 mph (which I went back and drove) and cars were passing me going at least 10-15 faster than the speed limit. I really felt unsafe driving 30 mph.
