Erving, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Rt 63
This is the state highway that runs north and south of the town of Erving. The speed limit varies from 40 to 50 miles an hour. Erving police will run moving radar as well as stationary. They usually sit just south of the Northfield line.
Rt. 2 Erving, MA
A stretch of road about 3 miles east of the French King Bridge almost always has traps on both the east and west bound. The speed limit goes from 55 to 40 MPH. A small town with a big budget for police presence.
North Street
Trap is set up approx. 1/2 mile from the Erving-Northfield town line. This is a rural area, lightly travelled, with a posted limit of 35 MPH. However, when travelling toward Erving there is a 1.7 mile long downgrade. Erving cops wait at the end to catch the unwary. Always a ticket, never a warning.
Route 2
Heading west across the state on Route 2, the road changes from a super-2 freeway to a local town road in Erving without any warning. The Erving police patrol heavily in the 30 and 40 zones in the town.
