Fall River, Massachusetts Speed Traps
State Route rt 6 near martine Street
speed from westport entering fall river is 55mph, and within a very short distance goes to 35mph and then 30mph.
the short distance does not give you a reasonable amount of time to maintain legal speed
I-195W Just After Rt24N Exit
Just after Tt 24N Ramp Mass State troopers sometimes unmarked will sit on side of road or in middle of road between east and westbound lanes been hit with instant-on radar many times especially after 11PM
Rt. 6E Between New UMass Building & Whites of Westport
Speed limit is 30mph and everyone always is exceeding it, as it is way to slow for this strip of road that opens up to a 45mph zone. Locals are usually out there at least once a week especially on Friday afternoons. I constantly see cars being pulled over and no sooner as he lets one go hes going after another. Ive even seen them flag down 2 and 3 other cars while they are writing the ticket.
Rt. 24 North between President Ave and the Airport Rd. exits
As you drive up the highway you climb a slight hill that bends to the right, just over the top of the hill the troopers and locals sit there and will jump in front of your auto to pull you over. There is no room to slow down, as soon as you see them its too late- they got you.
Rt 79SB after it exits from Rt 24
Rt 24 is a 65mph zone. Rt 79 is a 55 zone. You’ll notice the traffic after taking this lazy exit slowing down rapidly. SLOW DOWN WITH THEM. There are 3 separate spots before the Main Street overpass that the State Police patrol. It’s only about once a month, but all 3 places are GREAT hiding spots. Keep your speed under 65 AT LEAST. 60 is better. And if that guy in the red sports car blows by you, you can almost COUNT on the SP being there that day and he is the designated decoy. 🙂
