Foxborough, Massachusetts Speed Traps
State Route 140 near walnut Street
Coming off I95 MA exit 7B (140N) the speed drops from 55 to 40 very quickly. There can be police anywhere from Walnut St. to The Highway Dept. turnout (on left), to the Shell Station. Many times the police will be out of site at the Shell.
South Street near West Street
South Street is the main road connecting South Foxboro to the downtown area. The intersection of South Street with West Street & North Grove Street is a suburban area and posted 30mph zone that includes a community center and church. Law enforcement typically setup in the community center parking lot, facing directly into the intersection. When driving North on South Street (towards downtown Foxboro), the intersection is preceded by a steep decline after the I-495 overpass. High speeds are easily accomplished while not paying attention. Furthermore, the intersection does not reveal itself until a brief, rising curve in the road at the bottom of the hill. This is a near-perfect speed trap and also somewhat of a blindspot for drivers pulling out of West Street or North Grove. There’s a good reason this trap exists. Use caution in this area.
Oak Street near Coassett Street
Going south on Oak St. towards Cocassett St. the limit is 35mph but it is wide and downhill and many people hit 55 or more. Foxboro PD will Run radar early in the AM.
