Franklin, Massachusetts Speed Traps
VFW off Pond Street
Police like to sit in the Elks parking lot or right across the street in the VFW parking lot to catch speeders. Pond Street is a long 40 mph straight away, easy to get caught going 50. And with this snow its impossible to see into the parking lot until you pass them
200 Pond St.
At the entrance to Tri-County School. The revenue officer is there now.
Oak Street near the Horace Mann Middle School
Police park in the school parking lot or on a side street and use radar to measure the speed of vehicles coming down hills in either direction. Speed limit is 35 mph.
Beech Street at entrance to Joseph Circle
Don’t think you’re safe just because you’re close to the Bellingham town line. The Franklin police sit back just a bit so you can’t see them initially as you round the corner from Bellingham or start up from the 4 way intersection at Beech Street and Pine Street. Stick to the posted speed limit here and you’ll be safe.
Beech Street near Kathleen Drive
They are usually parked either on Kathleen Drive or Fannie Way right at the beginning of the streets
