Gloucester, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Route 128 North approaching Blackburn Circle
Gloucester PD sits on the shoulder near the circle where the speed limit on 128 drops from 45 mph to 25. Mostly there at night — hard to see the mostly black cruisers from behind. Easy pickings, as drivers routinely travel this short stretch of highway at 60+ mph and only start to slow down for the rotary after passing the 25 mph sign. Don’t forget to use your turn signal when exiting the rotary; they stop people for that, too. Expect to be treated as a DUI suspect if stopped.

A cruiser will sit in the vacant lot across from the Marine Station to catch drivers coming to and from Lanesville.
State Highway 128 near Exit Number 13
Police will sit on the North side of 128 by the stone pier across from Sudbay’s Car dealership to tag people coming down the hill around the corner. More enforcement in the summer months
