Harvard, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Ayer Road (Rt 111) @ Rt 2
Don’t be deceived by Harvard’s new unmarked dodge charger cruiser, it looks like a regular charger until the blues are on and you ticketed for not stopping. Noticed an older "close-to-retirement" officer and a younger, foreign, possibly sgt driving it, there are no breaks from these guys, especially if you hear the house music bumping from the cruiser behind you.
Dunkin Donuts Parking Lot off rt2
Harvard cops in black unmarked Ford Crown Vics sit in the parking lot and harass people trying to get their morning coffee. They will use any excuse they can find (burnt out light, "loud exhaust", etc) to execute a traffic stop and "check for warrants". My advise is to completely avoid this entire Dunkin Donuts area and find somewhere else to get your morning coffee.
Rt 2 heading toward Rt 495
State pol car in grassy/treed area and trooper has hand-held radar gun – can barely see him until it’s too late
coming off the intersection of rt 2 into Harvard
police car hides near a tree some feet down from the intersection. They will stop you and ticket you for not coming to a complete stop at the stop sign at the intersection
State Route 2
Route 2 Westbound. Harvard, MA. Long stretches of highway with a speed limit of 55. State police camp out approximately 1200 feet after the crest of a hill. If you’re going too fast coming over the hill, it’s already too late due to LIDAR. I was caught going 76, and it felt completely safe. 55 MPH on that stretch of highway is ridiculous.
