The Marlborough Police will hide in the VFW at the bottom of Pleasant Street hill right where the road becomes Fitchburg street and goes down to I-290. The Hill is steep, and many people are going about 50 by the time they get to the final curve(where they can start to see you)

Interstate 290 East near Interstate 495 North & South

The officers/staties like to park at the end of I-290 heading east, they park on the right side of the highway in the break down lane. You won’t see them until you get over a hill just past the 495 south bound off ramp…

Interstate 290 Eastbound near Interstate 495

Marlborough, MassachusettsJun 29, 20050 Comments

The speed limit drops on 290 East from 65 mph to 45 mph approximately 1/2 mile prior to the exit ramps for 495. The majority of motorists continue at 65-75 past the speed limit change, possibly unaware of the 45mph sign which is one of many signs there.

One recent morning, about 3 officers were operating a ticket farm approx. 1/4 mile after the speed limit change. Several motorists had been caught.

I do not know how often this trap operates. It may be used to fill end-of-month quotas; I observed it on 6/27/05.

State Route 20 near Interstate 495

I’ve seen an unmarked police car sitting in the parking lot just before Dunkin Donuts as you’re heading towards 495 exchange, speed limit is posted at 40 however it is too easy to do 50-55.
