Balance Rock Road near Pine Street

Pittsfield, MassachusettsMar 25, 20070 Comments

Police car will sit facing north on Pine street monitoring eastbound and westbound traffic on Balance Rock Road. Balance Rock Road dips down, then up and Pine street sits right down in the middle of that dip. Eastbound traffic is more likely to get caught because you have to ascend a hill right before the dip. The officer will see you before you see him. The cop also has the advantage of being hidden by some pine trees, more so when heading eastbound. The link below shows the location on Google Maps.

State Route 40014 near South Mountain Road

Pittsfield, MassachusettsNov 14, 20060 Comments

Police will sit in Berkshire Life Entrance and monitor Rte 7/20. The road is a three lane road (1 lane north bound, 2 lanes south bound). Speed limit is 35 MPH for a distance less that half a mile. North bound travel is easy to detect and avoid. However, south bound travel, which speed is typically 40-45MPH, is harder to see the trap until you are right on top of them.

Valentine Road near Vin Herbert Boulevard

Pittsfield, MassachusettsApr 08, 20050 Comments

Right after Vin Herbert BLVD there is a road on the opposite side of Valentine rd. that is blocked off near the tree line with a two concrete blocks. A marked cruiser will be parked right in front of those concrete blocks so that when your driving in either direction you can’t see him until its too late to slow down. Although if you are traveling south you will see the cop a little sooner, but not by much.
