Sandwich, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Route 130 North, just north of Quaker Meeting House Rd.
They just re-surfaced Route 130 in Forestdale, just North of Quaker Meeting House Rd. The speed limit sign used to read 45 mph, but since the re-pave, the sign now reads 30 mph, right where the new pavement begins. The cops sit on the curve, on the right hand side of the roads. There are no other speed limit signs, until you get past the dump, which reads 35 mph.
Rt 130 North and Pine St.
Going north on rt 130 just after Pine St on the right hand side next to the cemetery. Mostly early mornings. Speed limit is 25 mph.
Rt 130 across from Shawme Rd.
Police sit in private driveway, which is totally invisible to northbound traffic coming around corner. The speed limit drops from 45 to 35 right after the tourism info booth. You can’t see the police car until after you get around the corner. Too late! They are typically there at bar closing time, and early morning hours.
Snake Pond Parking Lot
I grew up on Snake Pond Rd. For as long as I can remember, cops would park a little ways into the parking lot of Snake Pond, facing the road.
Snake Pond Rd.
Sandwich locals sit on Old Snake Pond Rd., and now they are doing the drive
times too. I hear lots of changes coming too such as enforcing the 6T weight
limit, and cutting through Otis to the main gate.
