Pleasant Street near High Schools

Upton, MassachusettsNov 25, 20070 Comments

This road is crawling with cops. The two high activity times are after and before school and late evening. Often times the people pulled over are students from BVT or Nipmuc. The evening cop targets cars coming from the trafic light near nipmuc. They come over a slight rise and the cop is right along the road in the BVT parking lot.

Rt 140 Northbound approx 300 yards north of Upton Self Storage, nearly every morning Upton PD will sit in driveway on the right. Look for headlights shining across the road in an otherwise dark area.

State Route 140 near Traffic light at Maple/Hopkinton Road

Upton, MassachusettsApr 18, 20060 Comments

Typically this is run by the town (not state)police, set up right near the old hat factory building which is now senior apartments. Pik up is typically for either direction. Speed limit is 30, near the center of town and a high denisty housing area, so that’s not totally out of line, but there is a hilll to go up when coming into town, which most people tend to speed up for. ALSO note, if you pull to the right at the light to go around those turning left the light during peak/rush traffic time they WILL cite you for a marked lane violation…. there is not marked lane area for more that 1 car to be pulled to the right….

Mendon Street near Heading in either direction between the town of Mendon and Pleasant Street

Upton, MassachusettsJan 23, 20060 Comments

Speed limit varies from 30 to 25 to 35, based on road curves and hills. Use to be 35 straight through. Radar tends to be most any time of day, although they like the morning and evening commute times. Sometimes by the railroad tracks, sometimes near West River St, Pease St, or more towards Stockwell’s Farm and the Mendon town line. Picking up traffic in both directions. Rarely issue verbal or written warnings.
