Westport, Massachusetts Speed Traps
State rd where Westport turns into Fall River, directly upfront of Lepages Seafood. Speed of 30 mph, today 4/2/18 there were 3 cruisers on the side of the road for 3 hours pulling cars over left and right. It’s a joke!
Unmarked police cruser. May be a state cop. Seen in the area the last 2 days. as earley as 7am and as late as 6:30pm.
As you exit either Routes 195E or 195W heading onto Route 88 South approaching the first traffic light on Briggs Road. This is a 50 MPH zone! This speed trap kicks into full gear every summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day as thousands of people head to Horseneck Beach every summer. The side of the road looks like a used car lot as teams of Police pull people over. Out of towners even write into the local paper to complain.
Cops sit in the parking lot of the Congregational Church. It is East of Sanford Road and West of Old County Road.
Police have posted 30 MPH and thickly settled signs – despite 40-45 mph being reasonable and proper and the area by no definition being thickly settled.
