I-96 Eastbound Exit 145 onto Grand River

Brighton, MichiganApr 14, 20100 Comments

Not a speed trap but coming off exit ramp it is difficult to make left turn because there is no signal and heavy traffic. If you get to the end of the ramp to turn right onto Grand River and have a chance to make a rolling stop before traffic catches up to the intersection cops will bust you. They sit at the gas station across the street from the end of the exit ramp and watch for folks making rolling stops.

Brighton Police sit and watch stop signs and ticket anyone who does not come to a COMPLETE stop. You had better stop and count to 3 at every stop sign in the complex or they will nail you. Favorite place they sit is in the Holiday Express lot.

Kensington Court near Kensington Road & Silver Lake Road

Brighton, MichiganMay 13, 20080 Comments

Speed limit is 55 mph coming South on Kensington Road, but drops to 25 mph on Kensington Court (as you cross Silver Lake Rd). Police hide in business lots, tucked into the top of Lochlin Court or on the shoulder at the bend just South of Silver Lake. Mostly enforcement is at the beginning or end of the workday, but only sporadic. 35-45 mph would be a safe speed limit.

Challis Road near Grand River Avenue

Brighton, MichiganOct 07, 20071 Comments

Brighton Police sit in the Big Boy parking lot and nail drivers coming down the hill heading East toward Grand River. It is really easy to exceed the 35 limit coming downhill. They are also seen at the top of the hill on the north shoulder of Challis Road. They are very unforgiving if you are doing anything over the limit.
