Grand River Street near Home Depot & Holiday Inn Express
Every Saturday this is a definate trap at the 3-way stop sign by Target, Holiday Inn Express and Home Depot. Speed is 25-mph and careful to fully stop at Stop Sign. City police "hide" in Holiday Inn Express parking lot for stop sign violation and speed.
Near Woodlake Drive Street near Rickett Road
As you turn into the Wood Lake sub off of Rickett Road (the sub is across the street from the inductrial buildings over the tracks 1st one you come to) they sit right there. What happens is that it’s 25 and people do 35+. They will wait all down that stretch up to Woodlake Drive. There is no sign posted until after Woodlake Drive (on your left) after you turn into the sub. People do drive very fast down there and it’s not safe with all the kids.
Brighton/Bauer Road near Maltby Middle/H.S. Road
Police sit on side roads off Brighton Road, right after town…speed limit is 35 past H.S., then at Bauer the limit is 45mph, on Bauer and Brighton Road. Even on Buaer in front on the school is 45 mph. Watch out when you cross Bauer, and are coming into town. An umarked car sits in the church parking lot across from high school.
Flint Road near Interstate 96 Overpass
North of the I-96 overpass the speed limit is 45mph, but it immediately drops to 25mph south of the overpass. There is an inconspicuous speed limit sign, but no other visual cues (sidewalks, homes near the road) to alert the driver to the change. Police cruise the area and use mobile detectors to determine vehicle speed from any direction.
