Charlevoix, Michigan Speed Traps

I often see cops in the drive opposite the north entrance to Castle Farms (there is a line of trees on the north side to hide behind) apparently they lie in wait for south bound traffic but it could go either way. The limit changes right about there. Going north it goes from 44 to 45, so south he’d catch those doing 55 or more before the change. However, more people seem to really get moving coming the other way on the straightaway – I get passed doing 65-70 all the time!

Entering downtown Charlevoix from the north or south. The speed limit in town is 35mph but the 4 blocks of the downtown core are 25mph. There are city officers amongst this stretch of road in the morning and afternoon rush hour mostly but have seen them there at all times through the day. Especially important is when travelling north, after you cross the lift bridge, it is still 25mph until you are up and around the corner at the top of the hill and when travelling south….it is 25mph until you are to the top of the hill past the 7-11.
