Dearborn Heights, Michigan Speed Traps
Warren Road East of Inkster Rd.
This road was supposedly under construction, but no work being done. The cop sat in an unmarked car next to a closed restaurant pulling people over and issuing tickets. when I went to court ot fight it there were 40 people fighting phony tickets. All they wanted was the $$$$$ with $50 added to it and no points on your record. This is getting totally pathetic. I get marginal unepmloyment and can’t make the state pay me more to pay my bills, why should they be able to do this and get away with it. And, if you fight it all the way and lose, you have points on your record and the state hikes your plate and drivers license rates to boot –not to mention $ increase with auto insurance!!
Van Born Road at the Kmart Store Light
Going West on Van Born Road the police sit across from the Kmart store entrance. You can’t see them sitting there. The day I went to court there were 23 people all caught going through the yellow light, and ticketed.
S Gulley Rd & S Avondale Ave
Gulley between Michigan Ave and Cherry Hill
Ford Rd & Beech Daly Rd
Word is (from a source within the department) if an officer writes a designated amount of tickets, they get to go home, paid, for the rest of their shift. If they write the disignated number in one hour or 10 hours, they go home when they reach the magic number. What a racket! This goes for all of Dearborn Heights, not just on Hines Drive.
Belton Street near US Highway 24 Telegraph Road
There is no right turn onto Belton street between the hours of 4pm and 6pm and I cop will be sitting just past the intersection to get anyone who doesn’t realize that. The worst part is most people, myself included, try turning there to avoid a no left turn further up, and there is no other way to get onto a particular road without doing the illegal left, or the illegal right described above.
