MI-39 (Southfield Fwy.) on Service Dr.

Dearborn, MichiganFeb 12, 20100 Comments

I was on MI-39 (Southfield Freeway) and as I got off at Oakwood Blvd. and proceeded down the Service Drive of the Southfield Freeway there was a Dearborn Heights Cop sitting on the corner of a residential street. As I passed the street he came quickly behind me, turned on his flashers and pulled me over. He then wrote me a ticket claiming I was going 55 in a 30mph area. He then stated — Take it to court the judge will probably throw out the ticket. When I went to court the judge never raised his head up to look at me and he raised the 90.00 dollar ticket to 110.00 dollars. The funny thing about it is my van was having transmission problems and would not go over 30 miles an hour.

Fairlane Dr & Richard Dr

Students and visitors to the Henry Ford Estate be aware! The white SUV’s that you see patrolling around the UofM Dearborn campus have the authority to pull you over for speeding on the campus grounds. I should know, I was pulled over about three weeks ago. I was driving along the back road, Fairlane Drive, doing 30 and was being followed by one of their (what I thought was) security guys and didn’t think much of it. I noticed that he was speeding up and keeping pace with me, so I watched what he was doing. I got to the area near the Public Safety office when he turned on the lights. I only got a warning, but a warning means your info is entered into their computer system and the next time you will not be so lucky. BTW, the speed limit on campus is 15MPH.

Audette Street near Pelham Road

Dearborn, MichiganOct 13, 20080 Comments

Police will be sitting along the side streets that run perpendicular to Audette St. and Outer Dr. I was pulled over and ticketed last Friday for, get this, 30 in a 25 MPH. zone. Officer admitted that that was the speed at which I was clocked. This is unreasonable.

Along the M-39 Freeway (Soutfield) from Outer Drive Southbound along the service drive toward I-94 is a 35mph residential zone. See a car pulled over every day.
