Farmington Hills, Michigan Speed Traps

Probably hiding in one of the residential driveways or side street of Kimberley subdivision. If heading south on Middlebelt (coming from 12 Mile) the “NO LEFT TURN” sign into Mercy HS drive has been removed from the drive and posted on the right shoulder, thus very easy to miss when you’re looking left to turn left where there is no cross-street.

Officers usually sit at Inkster and Oxford Dr and radar southbound traffic. Speed limit is 35mph. A big tree blocks the view of Oxford Dr and you don’t see the cop until the last minute.

On May 16, 2011, at 3:30 pm, observed a Michigan State Police officer out of his car, on the Orchard Lake Rd bridge over I-696. He was crouching behind the short wall and aiming into the oncoming westbound traffic below. I presume it was laser, but don’t know.

Police sit under the M-5 underpass, targeting traffic heading east bound. I have only seen them in the early mornings when it is dark out, leaving the office nearly invisible until you are under the bridge. I have detected radar as far back as the top of the hill on 12 Mile, just east of Meadowbrook rd.

Going north or south police will park with radar gun at bottom and top of the hill going under I-696.
