9 Mile Road near Dequindre to John R

Hazel Park, MichiganMay 10, 20050 Comments

The police park in parking lots of area businesses along 9 Mile Road. Most of the stops I see are by cars heading West on 9 Mile after crossing Dequindre. The speed limit changes from 35 to 30 MPH at Dequindre. Be aware.

8Mile Road near Dequindre and John R. Road

Westbound 8 Mile between Dequindre and John R. Two cars work together hiding in the small shop parking lots. They clock vehicles coming over top of bridge where 40mph is posted. For a four lane boulevard 50mph is much more appropriate. It’s a constant stream for two patrol cars pulling vehicles over non-stop. They issue "impeding traffic" citations which are no-point tickets but are $150 a pop.

John R Road near State Highway I-696

John R is a four lane road that strolls through a school town called Hazel Park from 8 Mile to 10 Mile, just south of I-696. Speed limit here is 30, and although it seems slow for those whom have just exited the freeway, KEEP TO IT! Two officers patrol the street heavily. I work nights at a restaurant facing John R and see between 2-5 people pulled over in an 8 hour period…and that’s just the 1/4 mile stretch that I can see from my window. My fiance got hit here for 34 in a 30. Most drivers do 40-45, but don’t follow suit…it’s not worth it! Lots of tickets!

Southbound exit to 8 mile

Hazel Parks favorite money maker. traffic goes from 65 mph and the ramp is posted at 30 mph although the access road is posted at 40 mph Its a total trap!!!! I have beat at ticket on it because the cops go so fast to catch you, although I was doing 40, he almost rear-ended me and the ticket was dismissed because I told the judge I had to go that fast to not be hit be the cops unsafe driving.
