Kalamazoo, Michigan Speed Traps
West Lovell street at before Stadium
I live at this intersection and the city cops hang out under the shade trees in a black unmarked Crown Victoria or on a Harley. They radar or Laser cars way down the road and then just stroll into the middle of the road and wave you to the side. Speed limit is 25 and they look like they get people at 30-35 and above. They usually hang out after lunch till around 3.
Westnedge Hill from inkster to down town
On the top of westnedge hill at parkwood street looking south. Bottom of westnedge hill looking up the hill south. Also look for officer on motorcycle whenever the weather in warm.
Portage Rd from Miller Rd to Kilgore Rd
The KDPS traffic cops are always patrolling this area on motorcycles. You don’t see them until its to late. They don’t give brakes!
M-43 and DE Ave
These officers sit there almost 24 hours a day. Going both east-west and north-south at this intersection it is 25 mph. My old girlfriends family has tickets from 8 different hour time blocks, for ranging from 4 mph over to 10 over. It is a total waste of one of the 4 on duty police cars we have!
Douglas Street between Kalamazoo Ave and Alamo
This stretch of road is treated as "residential" with posted 25 mph speed limit for only two blocks, it then turns into a 40 mph speed limit. There are houses on this 4 lane street in both sections. The trap catches those coming from posted 40 mph stretch to 25mph stretch.
