Westnedge/Park split Avenue near Crosstown Parkway

Kalamazoo, MichiganOct 10, 20070 Comments

Westnedge and Park split at the top of the hill, which is quite long and steep, and if you don’t hit your brakes, you will be going well over 50 mph with the intersection of Crosstown Parkway at the bottom. They sit at the bottom of the 35 mph hill on the RH side in a driveway to a parking lot. Whatever they are using, it is completely non-detectable by a good (Valentine 1) radar detector, as the cop pointed his gun directly at my detector right through the windshield and it never even went off. The cop that normally has this is actually fairly reasonable, but will write you a ticket without being snotty about it. He will tell you about the safety issue, and if you look around, he’s actually correct. Take the ticket to court, and you may be able to have the points reduced, but good luck on the fine itself. Just slow down to the posted 35 mph. and you won’t have an issue.

Officer will sit in a (usually) unmarked vehicle in the entrance to Residential Opportunities, Inc. (ROI) driveway, which is partially hidden from the road. This is at the bottome of the hill heading towards downtown; posted speed limit is 30mph. I’ve seen SO many people stopped by this.

Mills Street near Kings HWY/ I-94 buisness Loop

Kalamazoo, MichiganSep 06, 20070 Comments

KPS will sit in the Red Arrow golf course parking lot and clock people coming south on Mills St. past the golf course and football field. They’ll usually get you as you come over the bridge. Speed limit is 30, you can usually get away with 35, but much more & they will nab you. I see them a lot during AM & PM rush hours.
