Lansing, Michigan Speed Traps
Walnut Street near S of Kalamazoo Street
Motorcycle cop speedtrap, usually 2-3 officers.
Cedar Street near Grand River Avenue
The Motorcycle Police of the City of Lansing will often sit on a side street or in a parking lot at the bottom of a hill on Cedar St. just before Grand River Ave. and shoot the southbound traffic on Cedar Street. This is a 40 mile an hour speed zone and the traffic will be coming down an overpass on Cedar and it is easy for the speed to increase to 50 mph if you’re not paying attention and breaking. I have winessed many folks being pulled over in this area.
The whole town
Police are hiding behind trees and shrubs. They use motorcycles and police cars together to forward to each other info on car movements. It is really bad how they are using it to finance city government.
East Grand River Avenue near Coolidge to Harrison
From Coolidge to Harrison Road in both directions. Speed limit is 25 MPH on a three lane (middle turn lane)well travelled road. Officers sit on side streets.
Dunckel Road near Exit Number 11
LEO will tend to be most concentrated off of the MI127 South offramp. From there, be aware at approx 12am LEO will congregate at the Sunoco station on E. Dunckel. Usually two units will be inside the Sunoco. One LEO unit, usually a City of Lansing LEO, will either be on the lookout for drunk driving or any reason to pull over the motorist. This is a high risk area as there are multiple LEO units late at night.
