Livonia, Michigan Speed Traps

The Michigan state police an the Livonia police target this area during the work commute . They will position a cop on the 8 mile over pass an radio down to waiting cars . Be very carful through this area as typically they have so many cops up to 12 that is causes major traffic backups an sudden stops thus several accidents.

There is a patrol car parked in a driveway on the west wide of road almost every day

The police seem to love this zone! I have found individual units using both radar and laser, but it is not uncommon to see (or not see) a completely unmarked car clocking speeds while a 1/2 to 3/4 mi. ahead will sit 4 to 7 pursuit cars neatly lined up on shoulder. WOW!!!

Police will park on Angling near the entrance to the O’reilly Auto Parts parking lot facing 8 mile, or in the left turn lane on Angling a short distance back from the intersection. Because of the position, cars on 8 mile cannot see the cop until they are already right in front of him. Nasty speed trap, and the police that sit here WILL issue a ticket every time.

Cops sit in an entrance to a neighborhood on the south side of 8 Mile near the golf course running laser on eastbound 8 Mile traffic.
