Novi, Michigan Speed Traps

On Town Center Dr. off of Grand River, there’s a marked Novi PD car sitting in the parking lot opposite the cinema/Bally’s waiting to catch ppl trying to avoid the stupid Grand River on to north bound Novi Rd turn. Speed limit is 25 MPH and strictly enforced!

cops will sit in strip mall in area under construction and pull people over coming out of the bars in area. The construction zone is very poorly laid out and lanes are not clear. They will say you have gone ‘left of center’ or some other lame traffic excuse to pull you over and ask where you were coming from– nough said.

For the last month or so there have been construction barrels up on Grand River between Beck Rd and Novi Rd. The usual 50mph has been reduced to 35 and the traffic fines are doubled. All they are doing is pouring a sidewalk along the road, which they finished in about two days. Novi police almost always have someone pulled over, im guessing they are bringing in some major money. There is no way to avoid it because 10 mile and Novi rd are both insanely congested.

Galway between Taft Rd. and Novi Rd. is aggressively patrolled for anything more than 1 mph over. There are numerous stop signs and the officer states he "knows" I did not stop because he did not see the front end of my car "dip" when he claims I "attempted" to stop. With the performance suspension in my car I am going to get a ticket from every officer using this moronic method of determining an actual "stop" because my car is never going to "dip."
I have seen this officer around town for about 3 years now and to call him overzealous would be an understatement. He was nice enough to not give me a ticket for my alleged speeding but he did give me one for failing to stop in his subjective opinion.

The intersection of 9 Mile and Meadowbrook Rd is constantly watched over late at night. At a certain hour, perhaps midnight, the light becomes a flashing red. A cop sits in the parking lot of the church on the southwest corner. He is there about fifty percent of the time when it is past midnight.
