Ottawa, Michigan Speed Traps

Heading South of Fillmore on 48th Ave (near Grand Valley) the 55 MPH changes to 45 MPH just after the 4 way stop Bauer Rd. Then during AM and PM school hours it is 25 MPH past the school. After going 55 on the many coutry roads in the area, it can be a surprise.

Enforcement is sporadic and is used to gain a high volume of tickets. Each ticket is worth $20 to the sheriffs Dept. Speed limit is 55 and enforcement takes place in the low to mid 60’s. Enforcement is done by the sheriffs Traffic Safety Units that are black in color or some other color other than the usual white. Units are usually hiding in the parking lot of the Catholic Church located between 16th Ave. & 24th Ave.
