Portland, Michigan Speed Traps

I was heading westbound on 96 when I noticed a MSP officer firing Laser just east of the 71 mile marker. The officer was on the eastbound side just past this bridge and if heading east, you wouldn’t have been able to see him until it was too late. Luckily for myself heading west and warning eastbounders of this potential money loss. Watch out for that Laser gun!

I usually see a balding state Trooper sitting under the Peake Rd. overpass as you enter Ionia County from the east. He usually only shoots westbound traffic in the late afternoon hours. I go through at 5:30 p.m. and have seen him there. He hides behind the bridge’s concrete post in the middle, and he usually has you by the time you see him.
