I-96 / m-24 / Telegraph, Northbound

Redford, MichiganJul 01, 20010 Comments

Wayne County & Redford Officers set in shopping center parking lot, shielded by 11 med. size trees, pointing their LIDAR to the south of the North bound lanes. Speed limit signs not posted until past 5 Mile Rd., (1 1/4 miles North). Fight these tickets, the Officers nearly always make a deal in front of the Magistrate. If they do not, appeal it to the District Court. The Prosecutor for the 17th District Court is clueless, only tool he really uses is intimidation. Locals say the Officers perfer the location because of the topless bar (La Chambre Lounge) located within the shopping center. If there is not a patrol car in the parking lot, look to the North and where someone has been stopped and is receiving a ticket.

Telegraph Road, between Six Mile Road and Plymouth Road

Redford, MichiganApr 01, 20010 Comments

Redford township police cars will park in the median, or in local business parking lots on this stretch of Telegraph Road. It is not uncommon to see 4 or more Redford patrol cars on this 3 mile stretch of main road that borders Redford Township. Patrol is heaviest during rush hours, but the police are nearly always on this road. I logged over 17,000 miles on my motorcycle last summer alone, all over the country, without getting a traffic violation of any kind. Within three weeks, I had received THREE citations for 5 mph over on this stretch of Telegraph. The city is NOT interested in safety, only making money. When I went to court, there were 47 other people in the courtroom, all of whom raised there hands when I asked "Who else was pulled over on Telegraph between Six Mile & Plymouth?" The vast majority of these persons were given the option of pleading to a lesser offense, with a higher fine and no points.
