Drexelgate Parkway near Livernois Road

Rochester Hills, MichiganSep 04, 20070 Comments

Drexelgate Pkwy. runs east/west between Rochester Road and Livernois Road. The posted speed limit is 25 MPH, however the section of Drexelgate Pkwy. between Denham Lane and Livernois Road has no residences actually on or facing Drexelgate Pkwy. There are parking lots on the north side of the Pkwy. for townhouses, and wooded areas or fenced back yards west of that on both sides of the Pkwy. Oakland County radar units typically set up between Denham Lane and Livernois, on the grass at the side of the Pkwy. or in the club house parking lot on the south side. This is a downhill run, with curves, to Livernois Road and there is the perception of being out of the "residential" zone for the absence of front yards. A speed of 35 MPH would seem safe and reasonable for that section of Drexelgate Pkwy. It’s like shooting "fish in a barrel" for the revenue coffers of Oakland County…

Hamlin Road near Crooks Road

Rochester Hills, MichiganJan 11, 20070 Comments

On Hamlin, heading east right before you get to the Hamlin and Crooks intersection, the road curves and it you can’t quite see the OC Sheriff car waiting for you to speed by. The speed limit on hamlin is 45, then, right before you get to Crooks, it jumps down to 25mph. Most people wouldn’t expect the speed limit to change so abruptly. Cops know that and thats why they park there. Many people get caught here.

Auburn Road near John R Street

Rochester Hills, MichiganJul 08, 20060 Comments

What the deputy do is sit in a public works drive way and monitor the speed on Auburn Road just past Brook lands School, its impossible to see them until its to late. The police station is very close by so they do this at all times of the day, especially when the speed limit changes do to school opening and closing, expect no mercy from the police.
