Saline, Michigan Speed Traps
Maple Road near Saline Library and Saline Middle School
A strip of Maple between Clark Rd. by the Post Office up to just pass the UAW office is a speed trap. Never caught, but have seen others pulled over. The speed limit is only 30, and should be at least 35-40, since that is what similar streets are posted at. If you are headed to Saline, be very careful, since the speed limit drops from 50 to 30 right before the UAW office on Maple.

In general, Saline has been know for a long time as a speed trap, even Triple A warns their members of this. Saline uses a dummy car and then replaces it with a real one for the purpose of revenue generation. The speed limits thru-out Saline are riduculously low, but especially on US 12. Rush hours are at a complete bottle neck all through town.
Monroe
Site in parking lot or driveway of warehouse just at city limit. Limit drops from 45 to 25 as you enter the city – nailed. Also gets people leaving the city as they anticipate the 20 MPH rise in limit as they head downhill.
S. Maple Rd. just after City Sign, before entering town between Textile Rd. and Oakwood.
Behind the red barn to the left side of the street. Speed Limit abruptly falls from 55mph to 30mph.Be careful, those cops have nothing to do and they hide behind the barn and nail you for speeding. One overzealous cop wrote tickets for going 4mph over the speed limit. Sometimes they leave a patrol car with a dummy in it for about five days, then on the sixth, a real cop sits inside.
The road goes from 55 to 30, then to 25mph when in front of the Post Office just before Michigan Ave.There is a school on Maple Rd. but traffic speeds should be changed (30mph 7am-3pm; 45mph 3pm-6am). The Cop shop is also down the street. They thrive on revenue. Small town.
